As you can tell, I'm quite the fan.

I do know that they casted quite the cast though.

They've got Kana Kanazawa, Saori Hayami, Maaya Uchida playing characters along with Miyuki Sawashiro and Nana Miyuki.

Then on the male side they've got Hiroshi Kamiya, Mamoru Miyano, Wataru Takagi (Wataru Takagi in Conan. Always found that funny)

I mean just overall quite the well known and well versed cast for this anime.

All casting was referenced from MAL and I ended up just digging through for some of the more notable characters.

Honestly this Ataru guy is annoying as f..ck He reminds me Kazuya from Rent a girlfriend, he is just a horndog, and Lum she's just too good for him

Rip Ataru, never got to eat his Sukiyaki, was put in front of a pole with a target on his chest, was chased down by a Yeti, and worst of all...was about to be removed from his main character role. This episode was incredible, Ataru happily getting home just for Lum to casually drag him into an interdimensional portal, placed in his closet, while he cries out for Sukiyaki...only in Urusei Yatsura. Surprised Ataru's parents had enough ingredients to make more Sukiyaki... and gave it to Cherry of all people.

Been looking forward to Benten and Oyuki's introduction in the new series! Best girls after Lum imo, the new colors for Benten really suit her, i wish she had a bit more screentime but i'm still really happy. Ouyuki looks fantastic, happy that her hair is actually ice looking compared to the early episodes of the 80's anime where she had regular hair. Both got amazing voice actresses in the new show, hope to see them together with Lum and an upcoming character really soon!

Benten chose to flirt with Ataru just to upset Lum, but Oyuki was actually waiting to get Ataru for herself! As if her appearence with the Kimono wasn't enough to strike any man's heart, her new voice combined with her icy leotard was just overkill.

Looking forward to next episode!

prefer Mendou's sister. benton really didn't ever do much while Mendou's sister stirred things up for Ataru to chase her.

Couldn’t help but think that the first two segments were a bit rushed just so that Benten and Oyuki could be introduced.

Mendou is truly the omega-simp. We all could learn from him.

And that last segment - shame on them all for thinking that. The real main character of Urusei Yatsura is the friends we made along the way.

it's not rushed, it's that short in the old anime and the original manga. Her first appearance is episode 8, and only for the first half and that's only 10minutes. Same with Benten for episode 15, first half.

It felt pretty short because they cut some shenanigans from characters that hasn't appeared yet.
Oyuki segment : Ten-chan, Lum's little cousin. still not introduced into the new show that I completely forgot he exists. (episode 2 of the old anime)
Benten Segment : Rei, Lum's male childhoodfriend who has a crush on lum. (Episode 3 of the old anime)

- It's really hard to not be a horndog with all these alien women in very cultured outfits. 👀 And I don't care, I'm still holding out for a new Ranma 1/2 adaptation whenever I see Ran appear.
- Oh, I definitely remember watching this episode in the original series. Lum literally looks great in any outfit. Mendou showing anyone can be a simp. And ironically, Lum saving Ataru from being a snow simp.
- Whew, this felt like a final episode or something. Only 40 episodes to go. And hah, it's funny that Rumiko was originally gonna make Lum a temporary character. Who knew this series is gonna start her whole career. Can't imagine UY without Lum. Whatever or whoever changed her mind should get some kudos.

This would be a great final episode
